Program Philosphy and Goals

We believe in the total child and that the child is shared with us from his/her family. At The Carousel School, we are committed to the development of each child to his/her highest potential at his/her own rate of accomplishment. We want each child to know that he/she is unique, has special skills and is an important member of the class. We feel that high self-esteem opens the door to satisfactory peer relationships. Our program is geared to a creative experience for your child through "hands-on learning."

The staff provides a curriculum recommended by The National Association for the Education of Young Children and the Department of Education that is developmentally appropriate and educationally beneficial to each child. We treat your sons and daughters as special people and value their individuality. While they are students at The Carousel School, we strive to meet their health and safety needs, social, emotional, physical and intellectual development.

Our curriculum supports our belief that learning is an on-going process which evolves in many directions and through varied experiences: a happy balance of free-play and choice of activities, interest centers, special days, enrichment, art, music, dance, drama, books, science, cooking, and computers; activities that promote fine motor skills and large muscle development. The children also have the use of three well-landscaped and well-equipped playgrounds.
